What does it means to be saved or born again?
Adam and Paul
Gen 2:22-24
22Then the Lord God made a woman. He made her from the rib he had taken out of the man. And the Lord God brought her to the man.
23The man said,
“Her bones have come from my bones.
Her body has come from my body.
She will be named ‘woman,’
because she was taken out of a man.”
24That’s why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife. The two of them become one.
Paul explains the signification of what Adam said.
Eve represents the Church or ourselves
Adam represent Christ.
In Salvation we become one with Christ!
31Scripture says, “That’s why a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife. The two will become one.” 32That is a deep mystery. But I’m talking about Christ and the church. Eph 5: 31-32
The Roman Story of how the two becomes one flesh!
Salvation makes you one with Christ –
a new life not a reformed life
For we are members of his body,
of his flesh, and of his bones. Eph 5:30
Salvation is not about just joining a new religion but a new life.
It is not just about new rituals but a new being.
Baptism signify this expereince of death and ressurection as one with Christ.
Question 1
How was your life before you became a Christian and after you became a Christian?
2. Walking in Your New Identity
Romans 6: 1-4 What should we say then? Should we keep on sinning so that God’s grace can increase? 2 Not at all! As far as sin is concerned, we are dead. So how can we keep on sinning? 3 All of us were baptized into Christ Jesus. Don’t you know that we were baptized into his death? 4 By being baptized, we were buried with Christ into his death. Christ has been raised from the dead by the Father’s glory. And like Christ we also can live a new life.

Question 2
What decisions did you take or have to take in order to abandon your old life as a Christian?
3. A decision to abandon the past.
Having been saved from your past, it is now your decision to abandon your past life and walk in this new life.
Romans 6:10-14
10 When he died, he died once and for all time. He did this to break the power of sin. Now that he lives, he lives in the power of God.
11 In the same way, consider yourselves to be dead as far as sin is concerned. Now you believe in Christ Jesus. So consider yourselves to be alive as far as God is concerned. 12 So don’t let sin rule your body, which is going to die. Don’t obey its evil desires. 13 Don’t give any part of yourself to serve sin. Don’t let any part of yourself be used to do evil. Instead, give yourselves to God. You have been brought from death to life. So give every part of yourself to God to do what is right. 14 Sin will no longer control you like a master. That’s because the law does not rule you. God’s grace has set you free.
You have to decide to no longer life the live of the old man or your old self. It is now you choice! The good news is that, you can do it! You have been set free from the power of sin. You are no longer a slave of sin!
Romans 6:13 Don’t give any part of yourself to serve sin. Don’t let any part of yourself be used to do evil. Instead, give yourselves to God.
