What is the gospel?
Gospel means good news
This good news is that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again, and all who believe in Him will have forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
7 reasons Why we must share the gospel
UK population (2024–2025): about 67–68 million people
England alone: about 58.6 million
Manchester (2021 Census): ~551,938
Recent estimate (2024): ~589,000+
Manchester is one of the fastest-growing and youngest cities in the UK.
Christian: ~46% (down from 72% in 2001)
No religion: ~37% (rapid increase)
Muslim: ~6.5% (growing)
Other religions (Hindu, Sikh, Jewish, Buddhist): smaller but increasing
1. Because Jesus Commanded It
Matthew 28:19–20 – “Go and make disciples of all nations…”
Mark 16:15 – “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
Jesus’ Great Commission is a direct instruction. Sharing the gospel is obedience, not preference.
2. Because It Is the Only Way of Salvation
John 14:6 – Jesus said, “I am the way… no one comes to the Father except through me.”
Acts 4:12 – “Salvation is found in no one else…”
If Christ is the only way, then people must hear about Him to be saved.
3. Because Faith Comes by Hearing
Romans 10:14–15, 17 – “How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?… Faith comes from hearing the message…”
People cannot believe unless someone tells them.
4. Because We Are Ambassadors for Christ
2 Corinthians 5:20 – “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors…”
Christians represent Jesus to the world. Sharing the gospel is part of that identity.
5. Because of Love and Compassion
1 Timothy 2:3–4 – God “wants all people to be saved…”
Matthew 9:36 – Jesus had compassion on the crowds.
If we love people, we will want them to know Christ and be saved.
6. Because We Are Not to Be Ashamed
Romans 1:16 – “I am not ashamed of the gospel… it is the power of God for salvation.”
The gospel is powerful—it changes lives.
7. We must join the quite revival.
“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? Luke 15:4
Jesus is the chief shepherd.
God is at work, we need to
join Him in the field.
Youthful Revival: there is a "dramatic growth" in church attendance among young people (Gen Z) in some regions like the UK, where attendance among 18–24 year-olds has
quadrupled over the last eight years.

2. Consequence of sin – Death
Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
3. God’s love – Christ died for us
Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
4. Response – Believe and confess
Romans 10:9 – “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
5. Call on Him – Salvation is available to all
Romans 10:13 – “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
