What is the trinity?
u One God in three Persons. Tri-Unity.
u The term is not in the Bible but the concept is.
 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; Colossians 2:9

This was how God chose to review himself to us not our idea.

Three things we are considering today;
u 1. God revealed Himself as trinity in Father, Son and Holysprit.
u 2. How are three one?
Examples of trinity at work in the bible
u 3. Experiencing God.

1. God revealed Himself as trinity in Father, Son and Holysprit.
u 3 persons who share the same/one nature.
u We didn’t invent it but God revealed it Himself.
u Not 2, Not 1, Not 4 but 3.
u Three is the Perfection of Completion – Science.

Three examples in the Bible;

Deuteronomy 6:4 NKJV
[4] “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!
u Shema, Yisrael, Yehovah, Elohiym, Yehovah, echad. – Hebrew
u Jehovah our Gods is one Jehovah

Psalms 86:10 NKJV
 For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are Gods.
Elohim (3) but alone.
(Isaiah 45:5 — "I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides me there is no God.")

Matthew 28:19 NKJV
[19] Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
u 3 different persons but one name – God!

2. How are three one?
- Examples of Trinity at work in the bible

u Distinct in Persons but one in essence/nature/being.
u What you are - Being – state of existence /nature
u Who you are.- Person – how you relate.

Everyone is one being & one person but
God is one being & 3 persons. – One eternal being and 3 eternal Persons that possess the being of God.

3. Experiencing God.
God wants us to experience Him in a relationship not as an intelectual philosopy.
He loves us and wants to know us as a father, friend and as God.

You can know Him by;
1. talking to Him
2. reading to know who He is – Bible.
