Bible story (John 6:53-59):

53 Jesus said to them, “What I’m about to tell you is true. You must eat the Son of Man’s body and drink his blood. If you don’t, you have no life in you. 54 Anyone who eats my body and drinks my blood has eternal life. I will raise them up on the last day. 55 My body is real food. My blood is real drink. 56 Anyone who eats my body and drinks my blood remains in me. And I remain in them. 57 The living Father sent me, and I live because of him. In the same way, those who feed on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Long ago your people ate manna and died. But whoever eats this bread will live forever.” 59 He said this while he was teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

What did you have for lunch today? "What is THE BEST thing since sliced bread?"

1 What you eat is not what your (spiritual life) really need?

As we go about our lives, we are often occupied by our daily routine and all the things happening around us. We are busy earning our living, and time just passes by unnoticed. We have ignored our spiritual needs. We are actually spiritually dead while we are eating and drinking.

Discussion 1:

Have you experienced a life without “life" inside? (v.53)?

2 How to "eat" Jesus?

Jesus said we must eat his body and drink his blood to have real, eternal life—life that has an eternal meaning.

How do we eat Jesus?
We can follow Jesus' example. We should believe in and rely on God. We should obey the word of Jesus and do his work.

Discussion 2:

Do you have or want to have “the real food” that will give you life in eternity? How do you believe Jesus and follow him?

3 Jesus sharing "himself" to us

Jesus is sharing all of himself with us so that whoever believes in him and receives him can have eternal life. He lived, died, and was resurrected for us. Will you follow him?

“Jesus gives us his best”
